This superior grade Pashmina fiber is used to create the world’s finest shawls, and is far removed from the commercially produced and often coarsely woven, blended, or faux “pashmina” that floods the fashion market.
In this particular Pashmina shawl, the weavers have chosen to use an especially lovely hand-spun yarn in a mixed shades of Dove Gray and Warm Gray with accents of Natural White and Black. Delicate variations in the fine twist of the yarn, density of weave, and the occasional inclusion of darker fibers during the loom process result in very subtle shifts of light and shadow, beautifully enhancing the texture of the petite twill weave pattern, referred to as “Kani” in Kashmir.
