Paisley Shawl ~ Kashmir Court
Luxury Paisley Shawl created directly from design masterpieces once highly sought for appearances at Court in the ancient Kashmir capital city of Srinigar. The original shawls in this genre were hand loomed in the elegant “Kani,” or twist twill weave, by skilled artisans who produced each motif separately then joined them together with invisible stitching. And, no two were ever alike as creating an exact duplicate was virtually impossible.

With an elegant, understated beauty, this creative shawl was inspired by the abundant flowers, wandering streams, and mountains of the Kashmir Valley. Harmoniously fashioned in rich shades of Chocolate Brown, Golden Rust, Deep Rust, Almond Brown, and Gray, this distinctive shawl features flowing arches across the shoulders as well as across the draped field. All four borders are beautifully finished with crest jewel medallions, palace windows, and petite vases of flowers.
