This graceful shawl, or “shal,” exquisitely reflects an eclectic artistry drawn from the variety of cultures which harmoniously thrived in ancient Kashmir for many decades, a society of tolerance which included Hindu, Buddhist, Mughal, Persian, and a multitude of indigenous tribal traditions. It has been inspired by a flowing legacy of inner and outer beauty, created with the gloriously abundant display of flowers and refinement of craftsmanship which are hallmarks of highly prized Kashmiri Shawls.

Patterned after an antique Kani weave Jamawar Shawl from the dynasty that also built the Taj Mahal, this unique, graceful wrap was fashioned with the generous help of private collectors who made their original shawls available to a trusted designer and producer so that the distinctive styles from that era may be enjoyed by others.
Produced with soft Lambswool Pashm from England, spun and loomed in northern India, this delightful mid-weight shawl is both beautiful and practical.
