The Chinar, with leaves shaped similar to the Chestnut, is regarded as a sacred tree with majestic boughs and hollow trunks where sages of old are said to meditate. Patterned after an antique Kani weave Jamawar Shawl embellished with hand embroidery from the dynasty that also built the Taj Mahal, this unique, graceful wrap was fashioned with the generous help of private collectors who made their original shawls available to a trusted designer and producer so that the distinctive styles from that era may be enjoyed by others. Produced with soft Lambswool Pashm from England, spun and loomed in northern India, this delightful mid-weight shawl is both beautiful and practical.
