On the Subcontinent, the Peacock Feather is regarded as a symbol of both spiritual and secular authority. Doorways adorned with Peacock symbology are believed to be auspicious, inviting blessings to all who pass through. Patterned after an antique Kani weave Jamawar Shawl embellished with hand embroidery from the dynasty that also built the Taj Mahal, this unique wrap was fashioned with the generous help of private collectors who made their original shawls available to a trusted designer and producer so that the distinctive styles from that era may be enjoyed by others. Produced with soft Lambswool Pashm from England, spun and loomed in northern India, this delightful mid-weight shawl is both beautiful and practical.
