Exclusive designer shawl from our limited edition Kani Solitaire series fashioned with the same artistry of an antique court shawl held in private collection from the time of the Mughal dynasty in Kashmir two hundred years ago. Highly prized, the twill weave shawls from that era were hand-loomed, many taking years to complete. Created for shawl collectors who seek out the intricate, bold patterns from Kashmiri shawl artisans, this elegant Kani Solitaire shawl also features the twill tapestry style woven on contemporary looms and is fully lined in the traditional way with delicate, light-weight cotton.
Displaying a tranquil field of mid-range Taupe filled with the delicate tracery of petite Himalayan flowers in Dusky Blue, Crimson Red, Rust, and Cream Beige, this very elegant shawl also features deeply embellished end borders woven in rich shades of Black, Prussian Blue, Crimson Red and Spice Brown. Loomed of fine mid-weight wool with a soft, gentle touch, the design of this lovely shawl beautifully evokes the sophistication and grace of Kashmiri culture during the early 1800’s and is a distinctive representation of excellence in the textile arts. For a final touch of luxury, we have had this exceptional shawl lined with Pure Silk gauze in Jet Black and piped on the lengthwise borders with Ruby Red.
